Description
English: Photograph by Melbourne photographer Josiah E. Barnes of oldiers waiting to board WARILDA. Kew, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, c 1916. The troops wear military uniform and have their kit bags at their feet. The reverse of the image has a handwritten inscription in pencil probably reading `Warilda 8 x 6 no4'.

The soldier centre right has his name identified on his kit bag and is Walter Benson 3961 who embarked with No 4 Tunnelling Company on HMAT WARILDA on 25 May 1916. Benson returned from the war to Australian on 20 May 1919. The soldier on the far left also has a name on his kit bag: 'W. Anderson' of the Australian Field Engineers. This individual may be William Anderson 4091 who returned from the war in July 1919.
