His name is stillpreserved in anatomical story by the terms Eustachian tube andEustachian valve. His physiology was entirely Galenic. He wasProfessor of Anatomy at Rome, where he died in 1574. The platesof his work on anatomy were engraved in 1552, but Eustachius wastoo poor to publish them. Indeed, they were only brought to light andpublished by Jo.
