There are a few antiquities in the small Museum atPentima, the key of which may be obtained from the attentive IspettoreCavaliere de Nino at Sulmona (interesting for archaeologists only). — About2/3 M. farther on, i/a M. from the village of Penlima, to the right of theroad, is the Cathedral of San Pelino., an edifice of the 13th century. Thearchitecture is very interesting, and there are many inscribed and sculp-tured ancient stones built info the walls. The interior, unfortunatelymodernized, contains a fine old pulpit (1170). At Raiano fhe railway leaves the Aterno, whicli flows to the N.E.to Popoli, and begins to ascend the luxuriant valley of Sulmona,watered by the Oizio, a tributary of the Aterno.
