editDescriptionSuccessful partnership seen between Afghan Police, U.S. Special Forces DVIDS319002.jpg |
English: A pair of Afghan children run towards the partnered force of 3rd Battalion, 3rd Afghan National Civil Order Police Brigade, and a U.S. Special Forces Team from Special Operations Task Force-South during a joint patrol Aug. 28 in the Arghandab River Valley, Kandahar province, Afghanistan. The two teams conduct security patrols on a near daily basis, and in turn, this has led to a more competent Afghan force which has only seen one policeman depart the nearly 200-man battalion since partnering with SOTF-S almost two months ago. This compared to a nearly 80 percent attrition rate a year ago among ANCOP, during a time when the policemen were not partnered with soldiers from Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force-Afghanistan. |
