Description
Deutsch: Alte Synagoge Hohenlimburg, Jahnstraße 46. Blick von der Frauenempore in den Betsaal mit der als Apsis angebauten Toranische Richtung Osten (Jerusalem). Darin Menora, Gedenkplatte und Davidstern im kleinen runden Fenster. Früher stand in dem Vorbau der Toraschrein mit den Torarollen, dem kostbarsten Besitz einer jeden Synagogengemeinde. Sie enthalten die fünf Bücher Mose, handgeschrieben auf Pergament. Die Gemeinde hatte keinen Rabbiner, Gottesdienst und Schule wurde von Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts bis zu seinem Tode im Mai 1933 von Lehrer Simon Kann geleitet.
