Description: Thomas Blackett Stephens was an early pioneer and land owner in the Ekibin district. He established a fellmongery business in 1862. Ekibin is an unbounded locality within the Brisbane suburb of Tarragindi. The name Ekibin is an aboriginal word apparently meaning 'good eating place', and refers to the aquatic grasses with edible roots which grew in or near Ekibin Creek.
