"Endorsement in Mackelvie catalogue, p. 52, reads- Certainly Westerwald stoneware, made in the general region of Coblenz in the early 18th century. R.J. Charleston, V and A museum, 25.9.1957. Original description in Mackelvie catalogue- OLD ENGLISH. Tankard, decorated with vitrous blue enamel, with "A.R" in same initials for Anna Regina."
