English: Tankard (Germany), ca. 1715
Description
English: Cylindrical, slightly tapering toward top. Flat domed cover with simple button knob, held by ring mounting and hinge on shoulder of curving flat strap handle. Mount on foot, with triangular tongues holding the base of the tankard. Exterior of tankard, and both surfaces of cover, polished. Tankard engraved on face with interlacing cipher in framework of scrolls, under a crown.
