English: CAMP TAQADDUM, Iraq (Nov. 11, 2006) – Retired Marine Capt. John J. McGinty III, one of the 111 living Medal of Honor recipients, talks about his combat experiences with Petty Officer 3rd Class Freddy Chavez, a 21-year-old from Los Angeles and a hospital corpsman with Medical Logistics Company, Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group (Forward). McGinty and two other recipients offered words of encouragement to those serving at Camp Taqaddum, Iraq, and orchestrated an unofficial Medal of Honor presentation ceremony here for Cpl. Jason L. Dunham, a Marine who made the ultimate sacrifice for his squad April 14, 2004. President George W. Bush announced November 10 that the nation will officially honor Dunham with a posthumous presentation of the Congressional Medal of Honor. Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group is deployed with I MEF (FWD) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar Province of Iraq (MNF-W) to develop the Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi Reconstruction.
