We enjoyedyour stay and we also voted the showas tops. 430 TE KARERE The golden Kowhai which appears on the cot.the Tc Karere this month has almost become theflower emblem of Mew Zealand because the (/olden blazewhich covers the trees in springtime is such a distinctivesight. The Kowhai tree itself grows from twenty toforty feet high and has a trunk from one to two feetacross. Each flower is from one to two inches in lengthand is a sulphur yellow colour. When the blossoms ofthis tree begin to flower and the birds begin to dredgehoney from the drooping cups, the people of New /.ealand know that sprint/ is here and summer zvill soonfollow.
