Title
Terminal from unclear object
Description
English: A cast copper alloy terminal either a lace chape or a teminal from a thin wooden rod such as a brush or pen. The chape is hollow and cast in one piece, and tapers slightly to a terminal knop of 6mm diameter which has been made seperately out of copper alloy sheet then attached. There are two rivet holes, one on either side of the object, close to the open end. The object is worn with a dark brownish-green patina. It is 28.5mm long, 9.5mm diameter at the end furthest from the knop terminal, and weighs 2.3g. It is late medieval to post medieval in date. Items similar in form to this one have also been recorded e.g. SUSS-F7F9C6, although their use is still unclear.
