English: Capt. Nathanial Heatherman (right), a native of Auburn, Mass., commander, Company C “Cyclones”, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, discusses the day’s upcoming events with some of the company’s senior leadership in their battalion’s motorpool here, Sept. 10. The sun has not yet fully risen, and the area is still awash with the orange glow emitting from the street lamps inside and outside the motorpool. Soon the Cyclone Soldiers will begin to compete in numerous events designed to test their physical and mental strength as well as their ability to perform as a tank crew member. This is all part of a 13-event, three-day competition, designed to bolster Esprit de Corps, as well as help them prepare for the gunnery they have coming up in the fall. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Richard Wrigley, 2nd ABCT, 3rd ID, Public Affairs NCO) |
