True, much of that was done. But,then, on the other hand, thousands ofAmericans will testify to instances ofgenerosity on the part of Madame, her-self. I know personally that a certaingenial Frenchwoman in Chaumont lostthousands of francs in bad debts.Familiar with the hazards of war asthey were, they usually were willing tochance non-payment rather than letbuddy with his uncertain fate go sup-perless. And, with his memories ofpleasant hours spent in the warmth andcomfort of these cheery wayside inns, the ex-overseas man will be prone togrudge them neither their nice car northeir fat bank account. Madame, ingood-heartedness and sympathy, gaveas much as she got. Many Yanks areindebted to her for chasing away theblues in grim hours. So its a safe betthat whether Madame is spending herA. E. F. francs on the gaming-tablesat Nice, or in the fashionable shops atParis, the men whose patronage broughther wealth would say, could they butsee her now—Go to it, and good luck! *******************

Ofcourse there was lots of coasting, out alsolots of hills. Hills make no difference toa Harley-Davidson. C. L. WALKERBox 786 Globe, Ariz. Before I entered the service I was amember of the El Paso, Texas, policeforce as motorcycle officer. I stuck tomy Harley-Davidson like glue, as I hadto ride 8 hours per day and every day inthe week. I never tired of the H-D as I did other machines. After I entered theservice, I went to San Antonio, Texas, where I was assigned to M. P. duty, andwas fortunate enough to get a Harley-Davidson. M.
