The HistoricalSociety of a neighboring county has gathered many photo-graphs of these into attractive albums, forming a collection ofrare interest in illustrating the doings of our predecessors, inpeace as well as war. A negative by the writer, presenting a picture of a quaintold church, supplied, after destruction of the building by fire, 160 many prints which served as mementos for members of thecongregation and as aid in making up a rebuilding fund. An old Daguerreotype was discovered which represented achurch building still older than the other, but long since dis-placed. A reproduction of this made a valued addition to thechurch records and was much prized by the survivors of thosewho had known the old structure and by others who, withthem, worshipped in its successor.
