From observations made on corrosion preparations of the dog, cat,raljbit, guinea pig, and rat, in which it is possible to trace the renal Ct. Carl Huber 403 arteries through their severtil Ijraneliings to their termination, ineliulingthe branches which go to the glomeruli, the glomeruli themselves, thebranches leaving the glomeruli, and often the capillary plexuses formedby these, the conclusion seems warranted that practically all of the bloodfound in the capillaries surrounding the different portions of the urinifer-ous tubules is blood that has first passed through the glomerular vessels.This was so clearly stated by Bowman many years ago that it seems butjust to use his own words to give further emphasis to this point.
