A NEW METHOD OF SIMULTANEOUS STEREOSCOPICOBSERVATION OF BOTH MASTOIDS BY PAUL C. HODGES, M.D.From the Department of Roentgenology, Peking Union Medical College PEKING, CHINA HILL and Thomas, writing in theAmerican Atlas oj Stereoroentgenology,February, 1911, ii, No. 8, described atechnique for making stereoroentgeno-grams of both mastoids on a single pair ofplates. Their method made it possible tostereoscope right and left mastoids simul- right and left sides. The films of the rightside are placed in the stereoscope so thatthey give a true stereoscopic image; then, using a conductors punch, holes arepunched to show the upper corner at theback of the box. The films of the left sideare prepared in the same way.

The general use of films instead ofplates makes possible another method ofsimultaneous examination of the two sides, which I have employed for about twoyears and which I find to be much simplerthan the older method.
