The shadows of gummas willvary in size; will usually be multiple; arenot confluent; will have edges slightly ir-regular but more definite than consolida-tions; when caseous, they will have centersof diminished density; when healing, theybecome irregular in outline, show pointedprojections of fibrous tissue which contractthe lung and niay obstruct bronchi.
