A few minor changes were noted inthe method of approaching the task, but noclumsiness or asynergia was apparent in itsexecution. 544 Effect of Radium on Adult Mammalian Brain Judging the permanence of retention ofthe habit by the average speed of its accomp-lishment, the results show that one cannotconclude that radiating the brain in thisparticular animal materially increased thetime of the reaction. The records in the ac-companying Table I show that when dueconsideration is given to the probable error comatose on the thirty-third day followingthe treatment, and died the next morning. At autopsy the brain was found to beapparently normal, except for a certainamount of anemia of the smaller corticalblood-vessels of the left temporal region inthe area which was directly exposed to theradiation.
