aphy has proven of greatpractical value. For the first time we havea means of diagnosing internal hydro-cephalus in the early stages. Internal hy-drocephalus is one of the most insidiousdiseases of the brain and is rarely diagnosedbefore a considerable amount of corticaldestruction has resulted. This is true ofadults as well as of children. With exactvisualization of the ventricles the findingsare pathognomonic. Not only the existence Dandy and Blackfan: Am. J. Dis. Child.. igi4. In one case (in an infant six months old)an internal hydrocephalus was suspectedfrom a bulging fontanel, but the ventriculo-gram showed no enlargement of the ven-tricles. Another child (three years old) re-mained drowsy for several days afterapparent recovery from an attack ofepidemic cerebrospinal meningitis. The
