ide this, my greatest favorite. Superb is too slight for my use. I have growntoo heavy for him. To sell him to a strange master is a fate to which I cannot thinkof subjecting him. To you, therefore, I intrust him ; and, as you loved him to whomhe first belonged, you will, I am sure, cherish Superb for the memory of his owner,as well as for his own sake. The horse was well cared for by his new master, whobrought him upon the stage, and taught him to perform some light parts in piecesperformed in the circus. Jacques Tourmiaire died in 1839, and left Superb to hisson who treated the veteran still with the tenderest care. He was subsequentlyexhibited in London and other large cities. Several years since, we read a shorthistory of this horse, published in an English journal, and, if our memory serves uswell, it was stated that he was foaled in 1802, and died in 1841, having lived to theextraordinary age of thirty-nine years.—American Stock Journal. PHILIPS SELF-REGULATING WIND POWER. ;JE here present a wind-wheel, which is acknowledged to be perfectly self-regu-lating—a desideratum that has occupied the attention of mechanics for manyyears. It has been tested here.as well as in the Atlantic states, for the last fouryears, in pumping, and the propulsion of all manner of machinery, and in everyinstance has proved to be all that is claimed for it—a perfectly self-regulating windpower. Large numbers of these wind-wheels are in use in Benicia and vicinity, andgive entire satisfaction. They are manufactured by Hyde & Storer, Benicia.
