Having grown tuberoses by the acre,from offsets, and having forced them ex-tensively in greenhouses, in pots, or onbenches, and having, whether justly ornot, gained the reputation of havingwon the secret of flowering them suc-cessfully, I may be pardoned for a wordon the subject. Yet, as it seems to me,I to-day know very little more of tube-roses than does the veriest greenhorn,and I can safely say that no professionalflorist has escaped the vexations and in-consistencies of tuberose culture, or hasever arrived at a point where he couldlay claim to much certain knowledge onthe subject.
