BOY SCOUTS IN CUBA The Exploradores de Cuba, as the Boy Scouts are dubbed, comprise an organizationof about 110 children. The movement was initiated in Matanzas, with a membership of 50on their national holiday, the Tenth of October, 1914. On that day the boys assembled beforethe Statue of Marti, the Apostle of Freedom, and marched to the barracks, where theywere entertained by the officers. , Every Sunday the little chaps are taken to the country and trained in campaign life,riding, and even taught cooking around a camp fire, and other requirements for campaign. On the 20th of May, this j^ear, the Boy Scouts made a good showing on bicycles. Theywere entertained by the Cuban Veterans and Mayor Freyre Andrade on that day. They nownumber one hundred and ten strong, and are like a crack regiment; though somewhat lilipu-tian in size, they feel as strong as David before Goliah and comprise the patriots of the future.
