There was evidence, too,that some of them should never havebeen sent to the camp. In the main,however, many of those dropt wouldget by almost any set of surgeons,for the simple reason that in the natureof these examinations the surgeonscannot have the individual under ob-servation for any considerable lengthof time. The army surgeon, or for thatmatter the civilian surgeon who iscalled upon to pass on the candidatesis hardly so well equipt as the averagecollege athletic trainer
