ial. A novelty in the car is the observation rear end. Therear platform is 9 ft. long, and it is completely enclosed byheavy oval-shaped plate-glass windows. Cozy corners andportable leather seats are provided for this end of the car.The forward compartment has two sliding side doors. Apermanent stool is supplied for the motorman, and he is pro-tected from the baggage by a substantial pipe frame work.In this compartment are placed the hot-water heater, a Bab-cock fire extinguisher, emergency tools and telephone in-struments. The interior finish of the car is rich inlaid mahogany. Thewindows are double, and have leaded art glass in the upperportions. The cars are lighted by clusters of lamps, enclosedin inverted holophane globes. A toilet room is provided inthe rear of the passenger compartment, with a drinkingwater tank recessed in its partition wall.
