At the largertowns combination passen-ger and freight stations arebuilt. A small enclosed squarebuilding is erected at stop-ping places on the IndianaUnion Traction system.The building, which has ahip-roof, is without orna-mentation. At some of thelarger towns on this systemlarge combination freightand passenger stations areerected. The front portionof the station at Kokomocontains division offices,ticket office and waitingroom, and in the rear arefreight sheds . Ail scheduled stops onthe Indianapolis & North-western system are pro-vided with platforms meas-uring 8 ft. wide and 30 ft.long. On the Kokomo, Marion & Northwestern system a very smallenclosed building is erected at all stopping places. On theSullivan division of the Terre Haute Traction & Light system the line. Where sub-stations are usually located at towns, acombination sub-station and passenger and freight station iserected. These stations, one of which is at Roanoke, are soarranged that the duties of sub-station operator and ticket andfreight agent can be attended to by one man.
