teachers ofEnglish and Singing, with the class adviser, Avere judges, and they chosethose whom they considered most capable and best suited in appearancefor the various parts. In this manner the best material in the classwas given an opportunity of making the play a success. At first the practice was carried on in sections, the different scenesfitting into a schedule, thus interfering practically none with the regularwork. In this manner the practices were carried on until Avithin abouttwo weeks of the date, when everything was put together and the fullrehearsals begun. In the meantime the class adviser, wdio coached theplay, gave individual attention to members of the cast as it was needed.And in all the characters there was a marked growth in understandingand interpretation as the rehearsals progressed and they studied theirparts with this ideal ever before them: Above all, be natural, but notyourself. In this play you are another person, he that person in thought,word, find action.
