With this town as headquarters one may go west toLamaline by steamer, touching at a score or more of harbourson the way, peaceful havens tucked in among forbiddingcliffs and rocky headlands. The names of these towns areunique; think of happening on tiny villages called Come-by-Chance, Hearts Content, Step Aside, Pushthrough,and Path End! Returning to Placentia after this trip of several days, onemay start out the next morning by the same steamer andvisit all the outports of the Bay, going up one shore andreturning on the other.
