There have beenseveral exhibitions at these galleries this winter of the work of menfamous for their etch-ing, engraving or mez-zotinting, and in manyinstances rare printshave been show^n, ar-ranged in a chrono-logical order, so thatthe displays were ofthe highest educationalinterest and value. Thework of the earlv mas-ters received consider-able attention while, ofcourse, the modernswere not neglected. Itis proposed to issue, asa supplement to thiscatalogue, what will becalled The Print Col-lectors Bulletin, a workthat again will be of theutmost value to the col-lector, in which will be Hsted the etchings of .suchmasters as Bracquemond, Buhot, Haden, Jacque, LaLanne, Legros, Meryon, Pennell, Whistler and Zorn,with others, and there will be a record of authenticprices, information worth preserving. It is calledThe Bathers and is amodest-sized canvas, ofa stream by the side ofsome trees, in the waterbeing some nude figuresof women. It is an ex-quisite harmony of tone,of the famous Corot grayquality, the whole en-veloped in an opalescent scheme of color so characteristic of the great master.While not all the Corots that come to this countryare pure gold, this particular picture is a gem inits way and worthy the most careful examina-tion.
