assistant entomologist, assistant agriculturist, two assistantchemists, assistant cryptogamic botanist, dairy bacteriologist, assistantin agriculture, assistant in dairy husbandry, gardener, instructor inhorticulture, assistant in horticulture, treasurer, and clerk. Headsof divisions are paid largely from university funds, in some casesentirely. The assistants devote all or nearly all of their time tostation work and are paid largely from station funds. EQUIPMENT. The only buildings which have been erected out of station fundsare an insectary and forcing houses. Otherwise the station makesuse of university buildings. The insectary is a two-story cottagewith greenhouses attached. On the ground floor is a laboratory forthe experimenter and his artist, workshop, and dark room for photo-graphic purposes. It is provided with a cold room for the storage ofhibernating insects. It is believed to have been the first building of U. S. Dept. of Agr., Bui. 80, Office of Expt. Stations. Plate CHI.
