the east shore ofthe Raritan River, is located the thriv-ing borough of Highland Park, whichhas its own separate governmentand which is being rapidly settled as aresidential community by people whosebusiness vocations are in the city, but whoare building homes in this beautiful sub-urb. This borough has grown veryrapidly in the last few years, and, as it pos-sesses adequate trolley facihties and has all the advantages of the city water sup-ply, good sewerage and excellent fire pro-tection, it is destined to continue to growand build up. In a part of the borough, known asLivingston Manor, Warren Whittleseyhas within the last three years built fiftyhandsome bungalows and cottages, all ofwhich have found a ready market, and areall very attractive and ornamental houses. New Brunswick is fortunate in beingconnected by means of fine macadam roadswith all parts of New Jersey. Theseroads lead in every direction and make thecity a center for those who find pleasure inautomobiling and driving.
