No. 263. Serviette for Eggs. Materials required : Red baize, plain and quilted satinand filoselles. To make : Cut out five wedge-shaped pieces of silk, and embroider themwith a small strawberry-plant design. Quiltup satin to form five separate liningsand sew the linings to each front.Sew each piece down the seamsto a piece of doubled baize cut tothe shape of design, but leavethe outer edge of each un-fastened in the centre ofeach wedge, to form theegg - pocket. A bowof ribbon is placedin the centre ofthe Serviette. No. 264. Needle-book. Foundation of grey kid. Embroidery executed inSatin Stitch, the Mowers in two shades ofblue silk, the leaves in two shades of olive-green silk.

No. 266. Bed Pocket. Foundation of carmine cashmere, with Applique pattern otsilk of a lighter shade, secured with a fine silk cordcouched round. To make : Cut out the shape of theback piece m millboard, and cover it with quilted satinCut out the front Pocket in cashmere, and Appliquethe design to it; also work the little Watch Pocket inthe same way. Sew the Pockets to the back piece, andfinish with a ruche and bow of ribbon. No. 267. Letter weight. The Weight is of lead, the cover of blue cloth, andthe cords of silk. To make: Cut the cloth to lit thelead, and embroider the flower-spray with pale bluefiloselle, and in Satin Stitch. Select the silk cordmade of several bright strands of silk, and sew it to thesides of the Weight and bottom, and knot it togetherto form a handle.
