In the super and extra heavy, the numbersare 29, 41, and 53. The lengths vary from 4 to 5 yards,and are sold by the gros? pieces. All black Braids shouldbe shrunk before being put on the dress, by pouring boilingwater on them, and hanging them up, to allow the water todrop from them until dry. Hercules Braid is a cordedworsted Braid, made for trimming mantles and dresses,the cords running the lengthway, not across. GrecianBraid is a closely woven article, resembling a plait of elevenor thirteen. There are also waved white cotton Braids, usedfor trimming childrens dress, which are sold by the gross,cut into lengths. There are also thin narrow ones, which are em-ployed in hand-made lace. French cotton Braids, mademore especially for infants clothing, are loosely woven,plain, and fine. The numbers in most request are 13, 15,17, 19, 21, and 39; but they run from 5 to 77. They arecut into short pieces, and sold by the gross.
