The Gulfs of Bissago andSherbro present those numerous islands described by Hanno, and not found on any otherpart of the coast; and even their form seems to correspond to the appellation of Horn,applied by him to these great gulfs. If, then, Hannos career reached central Africa, therecan be little doubt that Major Rennells hypothesis, or something near it, exhibits his realprogress. M. Gosselin restricts the voyage v%-ithin mucli narrower limits.
