Finding the health of his crew rather declining, hesailed across to Greenland, where an abundance oiscurvy-grass boiled in beer quickly restored tliem; andthe Lord then sent a speedy and good passagehomeward. On returning, Baffin expressed the most decidedconviction that the great sea which he had traversedwas a bay enclosed on all sides, and affording noopening into any ocean to the westward; and hisjudgment was received by the public, who named itfrom him Baffins Bay.
