She soon discovered thatwhen they ate buckwheat cakes and molasses, they werequiet for a longer time than after eating any other kind offood/ A distinguished indue of the United States District Courtobserved that when he took buckwheat cakes for breakfast,he could sit on the bench the whole day without being un-comfortably hungry. If the cakes were omitted, he feltobliged to take a lunch about noon.
