English: Title: The historic Waco Suspension Bridge, now a pedestrian and bicyclists' bridge across the Brazos River in Waco, Texas

Physical description: 1 photograph : digital, tiff file, color.

Notes: For many years, cattle were driven across the suspension bridge in its early days, when it was covered with dirt. It is now lined with thousands of bricks. At at the time of its completion in 1870, it was the longest single-span suspension bridge west of the Mississippi River. The bridge was built with cable supplied by the John Roebling Co., who built the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City.; Title, date, and keywords based on information provided by the photographer.; Gift; The Lyda Hill Foundation; 2014; (DLC/PP-2014:054).; Forms part of: Lyda Hill Texas Collection of Photographs in Carol M.
