A particular and circumstantial account of the cruel transactionsattending the ruin of that city, having beenpublished by some who were witnesses of,and materially concerned in the sufferingsthat ensued, we shall select such parts ofthe narrative as are most interesting and \ consonant to the plan of our work. several accusations laid before Sigismund,king of Poland, suggesting, that Lesnawas a confluence for men of all nations, aden of outlaws, an asylum for heretics, anda receptacle of traitors to the king and gov-ernment. Luckily the king disbelieved the calum-nies, and thus the Roman catholics were I Lesna, which word implies a grove of; defeated in their malicious intentions.
