the diftance of five or fix inches,fmaller fingle ftems. The leaves grow oppofite to one anotheron footftalks half an inch long, being narrow next the ftalk,and broad at the end, where they are little pointed ; in fhapelike a Pear. The flowers grow in tufts, at the ends of thebranches, on fhort footftalks ; each flower being formd like acup with yellow apices. (iEYTE Plante sélève ordinairement jufquà la hauteur dequatre ou cinq pies. Elle pouffe plufuurs tiges droites G?ligneufes, doùfirtent dautres tiges plus petites, &folitaires, placéesles unes vis-à-vis des autres, à des dijlances de fix pouces. Lesfeuilles font rangées deux à deux, fi? attachées à des pédicules dundemi-pouce de long : elles font fort étroites proche des pédicules,larges vers leurs extrémités, & reffemb/ent ajfez à une poire. Lesfleurs croiffent en bouquets, vers les extrémités des branches, furdes pédicules courts. Chaque fleur à part ejl en forme de cloche,avec des et amines jaunes.
