VIRGINEUM, Schh. /.—This is said to be a, lovely thing in the way of D. infundihulum, with nigro-hirsute stems, the leaves oblong-ligulate bi-lobed at the apex, and nearly twice as broad as those of that species. The flowers, which are numerous, and grow in terminal racemes, are only two-thirds the size of those of D. infundihulum; they are ivory white, greenish on the chin behind, and marked fi-om the base of the three-lobed lip to the base of the roundish emargi- nate crenulate middle lobe by two singular thickened light reddish lines, and having also a reddish tint at the base of the column.
