This explains the occurrence of conception in casesin which the woman has been apathetic during sexual intercourse, having noorgasm, or when she was unconscious from any cause. The time at which insemi-nation is least likely to be followed by fertilization is from the seventeenth to thetwenty-third day after menstruation has ceased. It is most apt to occur on thefirst day after menstruation.
