SLOTHOWER CHARLES EDGAR SLOTHOWER Charles Edgar Slothower was born in Gratiot, LaFayette County, Wisconsin, on May 17, 1866. His early life was spent on a farm near Gratiot, where he attended a rural school until he was 17 years of age. He then entered the High School at Warren, Illinois, and completed thecourse in three years, after which he spent a year in the west sightseeing, ranching and hunting, which he greatly enjoyed.
