Seats are provided bothin the building and on the platforms. Standard stations of the design illustrated are erected at all im- in the various offices have a wainscot of burlap about five feethigh with the upper portion and ceilings tinted. In the halls andin the employes reading and recreation rooms the wainscot isnatural wood. The woodwork throughout the building is ofFlemish oak and the various furnishings of the rooms are of thesame material, the harmony of the furniture and fittings being quitenoticeable. Office Building.The new office building of the Chicago & Milwaukee ElectricRailroad Co. is located a few hundred feet south of the powerhouse and car barns at Highwood, 111., and was completed andoccupied about Sept. 1, 1905. The building is constructed of redpaving brick with concrete foundation walls and gravel roof. Thefloors throughout the building are of hardwood, with the exceptionof the halls and toilet rooms, which are of mosaic tile. The walls the use of employes, one half being used as a gymnasium and theother half for baths and locker rooms. The gymnasium is fittedwith the most modern apparatus for physical culture, includingchest exercisers, rowing machines, punching bags, parallel bars andjumping horses.
