comjiany has inaugurated a freight and expressservice that has grown into much popularity. A flat carwas fitted up with a body, modeled after the broad gaugeexpress cars, but to conform with their coaches, and isrun four trips daily. Small packages, freight of all kindsand parcels are carried on these trips, being delivered bv tinental was necessary, and steps were taken to that end.Twenty-five cars were ordered, each equipped with two30-horse-power T-II.water proof motors, on maximumtraction Brill trucks. The cars are 30 feet long, paintedwhite and built with straight sides, making a handsomeand novel appearance. The entire length of this road,twenty-one miles, was rebuilt and double-tracked, a new50-pound girder rail being laid in many places. Throughthe principal parts of the city, on Third, Morrison andGlisan streets, the service is three minutes and on otherstreets seven minutes. The suburban travel is a fifteenand thirty minute service, which will be reduced whentravel warrants.
