In the center of the carthere is a small cab having a door upon one side. This cab is 5ft. long by 4 ft. wide, and at the bottom is finished with a concaveiron panel, the object being to allow long rails to be loaded. Thecar is mounted as low as possible, has the usual trap doors in thefloor. Under the center of each sill and betwen the needle beamsare two storage boxes 48 in. long, 20 in. wide and 16 in. deep.From the top of the platform over the trolley board is 7 ft. 45^ in.The car is fitted for use not only as a construction car for railcarrying and the like, but has ample power so it may be used asa locomotive. The pilots are arranged so as to be easily removedfor repairs or other purposes.
