Stock that wasbought at five cents on the dollar is now worth ninety-five. N unusual number of fatal and peculiar accidentsoccurred in various parts of the country duringthe last few days of December.In Chicago, John Nelson, driver of a horse car on theWest Chicago road, managed to stop his car, but the run-away team dragged him over the dash and some distancealong the stone pavement, causing injuries from which hedied in a few hours. A lad) passenger on the North Side cable entered acar dragging a piece of telegraph wire, one end of whichwas wound around her leg, the other fastened to a largecoil of the wire at a pole. It was not discovered until thecar started, when the unfortunate woman was suddenly jerked through the door,striking the dash, and beforethe car could be stopped hadmost of the flesh strippedfrom the bone and she wasotherwise injured.
