There is further aspeed indicator operated by electricity and indicating directly thenumber of kilometers per hour. The table containing the measur-ing instruments measures the quantity and voltage of current usedfor the car motors only, an ammeter and voltmeter for each of themotors, an ammeter for the magnetic brake circuit, all of whichwere supplied by the European Weston Instrument Co. There isfurther, a distance recorder measuring in meters the distance tra-versed by the car, an apparatus reading directly the grade of thetrack by means of a pendulum the deflection of which is trans- suspended from one of the trolley suspension wires. This blow 11the rod causes it to fly back, releasing a spring which moves theindicator point forward to the name of the next street. The indi-cator is set for a round trip and can be regulated by the conductor.D.
