INTERIOR OF TUNNEL.—GLASGOW. thought best on account of the shape of the tunnel, whichallowed of a better permanent way with the narrow gage.The curves are all very light although the road takes ageneral circular course. The cable speed is to be 15miles an hour which will probably be increased. Theprofile of the road provides for a slight grade leading upto each station to aid in stopping and starting. Longdouble truck cars are to be used, 41 feet over all andwith 32 foot bodies. The plan is to run two cars in atrain. The illustrations are reproduced from the Rail-way World of London. D. H.
