Orders for snow plows are now beingplaced, and managers who are short on this equipment,will consult their own interests by ordering early. Will Be Fine.—One of the handsomest isolatedplants being put in at present, is that in the PowerStation of the Broadway Cable Road. The plant willcomprise between 3,000 and 4,000 lamps, and quite anumber of electric motors. Slow speed dynamos, coupleddirectly upon the engine shaft, will be used. H. WardLeonard & Company are acting as the bulk contractorsfor the entire electrical equipment. The Pierce and Miller Engineering Companywill soon have the 1,200 horse power steam plant, whichit is installing for the Globe Street Railway Company ofFall River, Mass., completed and in running order. The Babcock-Willox Comp.Vnv, during the sixmonths ending June 30th, installed in the United States71,000 horse-power, of which 20,000 was put in duringthe month of June. The report of their business abroadshows an aggregate for the six months nearly as largeas that in country. The American Encune Company of Bound Brook,N. J., have been forced to make additions to their vastmachine shops. They are now buildmg an addition40x60 feet to meet the demands.
