The day load is carried by the small generator alone,the large one being used only when e.xtra power is re-quired during the morning and evening hours ofheavy traffic. .\ storage battery plant of 264 cells, hav-ing a capacity of 1,000 ampere hours, is used in con-nection with the generators to take care of any sharppeaks in the load. The diflferent lines of the two sys-tems use approximately 8,000 kw. per 24 hours. The present plans of the company call for a largeamount of construction work during the coming sum-mer.
