39 PLATE XXXIII. The Corinthian cornice, with the planceer inverted. The height and projections ofthe cornice are the same as in Plate XXXII. 40 PLATE XXXIV. Is the manner of drawing the Corinthian column with an entablature entire ; or thecolumn and entablature on a pedestal; or upon a subplinth. The diameter of the co-lumn is one-tenth part of its height; the height of the entablature, and pedestal, arefound in the same manner as in the Ionic order; that is, the height A B, fig. 1. is dividedinto six equal parts, the upper one is for the height of the entablature ; one half of whichwill of course, be the diameter of the column. The rods C D, and E F, show the me-thods of setting off the order when it is to be executed on a pedestal or on a subplinth;the pedestal takes one-fifth of the entire order, the subplinth one-twelfth. The diameterof the column is one-tenth of its height. CORINTHIAN. Plate 34.
